Groups Leadership
Here at Faith Community we believe that working on a team makes ministry more fun - we like to say "It's always better together!"
At the helm of our Groups@Faith Ministry is our Groups' Pastor, Liz Groman. Liz's mission is to model Christ's leadership by serving, encouraging and supporting our Section Leaders and Group Leaders as they follow the call of God through ministry. She is also responsible for coordinating all of our Groups@Faith activities. You can always find Liz at the Groups table ... ready and willing to encourage and bless you with words of wisdom or a warm hug ... urging you to be salt and light in all you do.
Our five Section Leaders, Tina Brewer, Jeff Gehlhaar, John Groman, Olga Kenney and Scott Case, are responsible for assisting, resourcing, mentoring and praying for our Group Leaders as they pastor those God has placed in their groups. Each Section Leader serves between 6 and 8 groups and liaisons between his or her Group Leaders, the Church Staff and our Groups Pastor. Our Section Leaders have all successfully led groups and each one makes a commitment to serve in this role for at least one year. Section Leaders are also responsible for assisting in raising up new leaders.

Liz Groman, Groups Pastor
I am so privileged to be part of what God is doing at Faith Community and to have the opportunity to serve as Groups Pastor in releasing, supporting and encouraging the remarkable leaders God has called to Groups@Faith. I have an amazing team of Section Leaders who help to keep our groups walking in the footsteps of Christ laid out before us. John and I have been married many years and have enjoyed working together in many capacities and ministries including Groups@Faith. We have a daughter, son-in-law and 3 wonderful grandkids who fill our hearts with joy. You will also find me assisting in the 1st/2nd Grade Sunday School classroom and singing in both Choir and Worship Ministry. I can usually be found at the Welcome Table after the service. I would love to meet you in person and hear what God is stirring in your heart as a group. Hugs. Shalom.
Jeff Gehlhaar
I am a true San Diego native, having been born and raised here. I have been happily married for 16 years and have two daughters. I have been a section leader for Groups@Faith since we launched over 3 years ago. I became a believer in college, so I feel I have a bit of sense of what it is like as an "outsider", which makes me enthusiastic that our groups model at Faith is so approachable! It has been a true blessing to get to use my gifts as part of Groups@Faith and I am honored to serve on council where I can continue to be used by God for the benefit of present and future members of Faith.
John Groman
My wife and I came to know Christ almost 30 years ago. We have a daughter, son-in-law and three grandkids who delight us and love the Lord. I serve in Worship ministry and you will find me playing my guitar or back in the sound booth on many occasions. Serving as a Section Leader is a great opportunity for me to encourage others to step out in faith and allow Christ to shine through what they love to do. Groups@Faith is an ideal way to provide a connection between our culture and the Kingdom of God as relationships are built through experiencing Christ at work in real lives.
Olga Kenney
I have been married to George for 29 exciting years! We have an amazing daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Matthew, who both love the Lord. My primary love language is service and I find it a joy serving our family at Faith. Together, George and I feel called by the Lord to minister to married couples helping them strengthen their marriages. I have also served on the Church Council and am currently a Section Leader for Groups@Faith. I feel grateful and blessed to be part of this loving Body of Christ called Faith Community where I am encouraged and challenged to grow in my walk with the Lord. I love meeting new friends, so if you see me, please come and say hello!
Scott Case
I have been part of this Christian fellowship since 1986, once we escaped LA for this beautiful city. Yes, I am a Charger and Padre fan, but I also am a loyal UCLA supporter. My wife Laurie and I have been married for 23 years, and have two teenage sons Chris and Joe. I enjoy helping others launch their group so that they can serve the Lord using their skills and passionate interests. On Thursday evenings, you can find me hosting an Outpost Group at Shakespeare's Pub in Mission Hills.
Tina Brewer
I've been a Christian for 22 years and love the Lord. I am married to Larry and have one son, Chad and two dogs, Pik and Gracie. I love to laugh and I'll pray with anyone! I'm currently leading the Winter Running Group and co-lead Kitchen Angels with Linda.
